Measure the largest rigid component, not the mattress footprint. Headboards, side rails, adjustable bases, and canopy posts decide whether the bed must come apart.
Four measurements
- Largest rigid component.
- Narrowest doorway.
- Stair width and landing depth.
- Elevator opening and interior depth.
Inventory the parts
List the headboard, footboard, rails, center supports, slats, drawers, and base. If reuse matters, keep hardware in a labeled bag.
Adjustable and storage beds
These may contain motors, wiring, drawers, and heavy articulated sections. Provide a model or clear photo. Do not attempt electrical disassembly you are not qualified to perform.
